Roy King Montre Royale Black Opal Watch

This is an incredible watch made by La Montre Royale de Geneve! This company was owned by Roy King to make the highest quality watches in the 1970’s. Roy King was a lifelong jeweler who created one off pieces for London jewelers that were often placed with royal families. This particular example is the most exciting watch I’ve seen by his brand. Unlike most of the small opal watches of this time, this example is quite large at 36.5mm and has a large black opal dial. The stone dial is extremely beautiful and dynamic. It has two small hairlines at loupe level but is not distracting to the eye. The bracelet is also heavy and stunning. It has a bark like finish often seen with Roy King watches and was made by JPE. JPE produced some of the highest quality bracelets for Patek among others. The bracelet fits a 6.75-7 inch wrist. Overall it is a fantastic and very high quality watch that was likely a unique piece for a very important client.
